Out-of-Town Work Parties Project Liberty Ship periodically schedules "out-of-town work parties" during which the more far-flung PLS volunteers are encouraged to come to Baltimore to spend several days aboard ship performing specific maintenance and repair tasks. Local members are encouraged to participate as well. Volunteers participating in out-of-town work parties (or for that matter, performing volunteer work aboard ship at any time) must be members of Project Liberty Ship. See the Project Liberty Ship website (www.liberty-ship.com) and click on the "Membership" tab in the red navigation bar. The Membership page has a link to a membership application form that you can complete and send to the address indicated with your dues payment. Out-of-town work party volunteers live aboard ship during the work party. Meals are usually provided, with participants contributing a modest sum to cover the cost of food. These work parties are an excellent way for those who don't live close enough to volunteer regularly to be able to support their ship.
