News from Project Liberty Ship

Project Liberty Ship volunteers who wish to sail with the ship must attend a crew training weekend. The first training weekend will be held Saturday-Sunday, May 5 - 6, 2012, beginning at 0800. Another training weekend will be scheduled later in the year. Contact the ship by telephone (410-558-0646) or via e-mail (john.w.brown@usa.net) for information or to confirm attendance. Project Liberty Ship has announced the 2012 cruise schedule for Liberty ship SS JOHN W. BROWN. Tickets are now on sale by phone or mail. Please contact our ticket reservation service at 410-558-0164 for ordering information, or see the above web page for a ticket order form.

SS JOHN W. BROWN steamed to Norfolk August 6-7, 2011, to enter dry dock at Colonna's Shipyard. The ship returned to Baltimore on September 5, having weathered Hurricane Irene while on the blocks.

Classes will be held at MITAGS for local members, and are free of charge.
